Why won't video spin let me open and edit videos from my nikon digital camera?

I downloaded a free version of Pinnacle video Spin to edit videos for youtube.. but the only videos it will let me open and edit are from my cell phone. My digital camera is a Nikon coolpix l2





aand when I simply try to open a video file it says.."not able to open..blahblah"





doesn't say why. I've tried everything..opening it from the source and dragging and droping. Uploading it directly from my camera to video spin..it doens't even show up in the list of items on the camera.

Because they are probably saved as .mov which video spin does not accept. You need to find a program to convert them to .avi
