Have music videos reached their peak? New vids seem uninspired and cheap. And TV doesn't play them anymore :(

I feel like the videos during the late 90's and early 00's were of a lot higher quality, and a lot more importance was put on the art of music videos. the videos just suck these days. there are a few gems...like the Justice video for DANCE, the Fergie video for Clumsy, the Snoop Dogg video for Sensual Seduction... but the majority suck. maybe i am just bias towards my generation.

Probably. Music videos have become very commercialized, and more importantly formulated. Anything that is too formulated can't be called art, and now with so many entertainment choices, even with quality works, it will be difficult to get the audience and the talent back.

I would prefer artists to focus more on the music rather than the video since who have the time listening to a piece of music AND sitting there watching a video created by the artist with a bunch of other people? Just give me the music please. No other interpretations necessary.

Reply:snoop was going for the late seventies, early eighties look
Reply:If you thought the 90's had it going on, the 80's paved the way. Those videos were the reason we got excited in the 90's.

Thanks mostly to downloads, nobody takes the time to polish their craft any more. Who has to? Two good danceable songs and you get promoted to the gills, and everyone knows your songs. The rest of your "album" is ignored.

The concept album is probably dead, and no band will ever sneak up on us again.
