I wanna convert videos from my old video camera???
you did not mention what your operating system is.if you want to do it yourself:

1-purchase an video capture card which is supported by your operating system(for example woindows Vista).all of these capture cards have softwares for installing beside software

as a video converter.you may also obtain third party softwares

with more converting options if you like.after installing drivers and video converter software do as follow

2-connect the cable from your line-out or video-out of your cammera to the capture card's line-in or video-in .

3-start your video converter software.then it gives you options to choose the format you want for example dvd,mpeg4,vcd...etc

choose the one you want and then start to download your records from the tape to save in your pc

4-obtain a dvd or cd writer.

5-all writers hav softwares to enable you to write your cds and dvds for example "NERO"

6-start to burn a cd or dvd and writ the video file that you have downloaded and saved in your pc.

probably you will fail for 1st and 2nd time but finally you will have your video on a cd or dvd.
Reply:ok you definitely need to add some details of your old camera

what kind of signal out does it have? etc. maybe a web page we could see.
Reply:Set up to play the vids on a t.v. that has input %26amp; output jacks connect output to c.d. burner and go.
Reply:Old camera video output =====%26gt; New Camera Video Input

-- Yellow to Yellow

Old camera audio output(s) ===%26gt; New Camera Audio Input(s) -- White to White and Red to Red

Play on old camera with old tape

Record on new one with new blank tape

Substitute a stand alone DVD recorder for the new camera and use its inputs. Record on it and then when done finalize the DVD if +R or -R (not required for +RW or -RW discs). Be sure to use the right discs for the machine.

CD does not hold enough information for most videos even in VCD recording mode on computers.
