Videos that speak of God typiclaly show scenes of the Universe?

My belief is that God is the Universe (more to it, but too much for here.) I take crap about that regularly. But why is it that so many videos and pictures that speak of God show pictures of space/the galaxy/the Universe? If there weren't some foundation for the idea that God and the Universe are one, wouldn't people show pictures of what they think God is? Or are they unknowingly showing pictures of what God really is?

I know the question is biased to my belief, I would just like your thoughts on the topic. Link with example video attached. http://video.aol.com/video-detail/be-unt...

Videos that speak of God typiclaly show scenes of the Universe?
I think that you are correct.

God is one with all of creation. This is difficult to understand from the perspective of what seems to be a separate human body. Remember God created everything. In the beginning there was only God. For this reason God created the heavens and the earth from the only thing that existed, Him/Herself. Any thing that exists is made from this God stuff. Carl Sagan called it star stuff. For this reason oneness is the absolute truth, it could not be otherwise. After all if it is not from God then where would it be from?

God is so great and complex that it is difficult for us to even comprehend such a being. For this reason God ‘s different attributes have been broken down to more understandable segments God the father is considered to be the source of all that is. God the son refers to us the created aspects of God. God the Holy Spirit refers to the connection between the creator and the creation. So the answer is yes to your question. No real conflict exists between the two ideas. Unless of course one is looking for a conflict.

Reply:Gee, physics programs usually show the same thing, too.

Nifty how that all works.

I tend to agree with your view that there is nothing that is NOT god, and although this is difficult for many humans to conceive, I believe that god must at once be the creator and the created, or else we end up with a qualified dualism. Not that I have a problem with multiverses or nihilism, either...I could go on for infinity, but without celebrity followers to tithe me, it would be a waste of Time...
Reply:I think it's the equivalent of those "No picture available" signs in a high school yearbook.
Reply:Well the main Scriptural description of the Creator is that of having no visible form. Therefore it does make some sense, if you're going to communicate about the Creator on video, to simply show the Creation on the grandest scale you can, to get a person thinking about who/what could originate and be larger than that. Plus it implies a mastery of technology and science and yet still a belief in the Creator.

Myself, I prefer to communicate about the Creator in writing or in person. The writings about the Creator say that I am made in the Creator's image, and therefore *am* the best means I have to communicate about Him. It also strongly implies that my physical appearance isn't what conveys the Creator's image so much as the consciousness underlying it, that I am an image more in the sense of a diagram than an exact physical representation. Therefore, a video of me isn't the best either--an unresponsive recording of moments in time whose stimulus has passed and is gone. Personal interaction is best, and if it must be a recorded type, writing--designed as a pure organized way to convey thoughts--is second best.
Reply:God isn't ONE with the universe-Hde created it.

David voiced it like this:

Psalm 8:3-4 (New International Version)

3 When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,

the son of man that you care for him?
Reply:The obvious message is "God is the Creator of the Universe" - it's so clear, how could you miss it?
Reply:Are you a pantheist?

Yes i share a similar thought. I'm not a proper pantheist, i don't call it god.

But i believe all that is, is our "god". Sounds contradictive i know.

I'm more of a "naturalistic philosopher" (EDIT:i'm an atheist with an appreciation of the universe).

I think they show galaxies and stars because of the vastness. A representation of all that is and the beauty of it all. You can't represent the whole universe but you can represent the fact that the universe is a huge place full of complexity.
Reply:They show "The biggest thing they can think of" because what ELSE are they going to show. God either doesn't exist or is extremely camera shy.

It doesn't mean the universe is god. It means they don't know how to represent a physical manifestation of a meme.

Another example would be: rainbows. They often use these when talking about homosexual issues, and yet homosexuals do not have anything to do with light refraction.
Reply:I understand what you mean about God being the Universe (but you know that already). And gee, that was a really Hot picture of Jesus in the beginning of that video! Who was that guy/model/actor? Mmmmm. Anyway, I thought the first half of it and even the words to the song were pretty neat. Why is the Universe and nature shown in these saccharine things about God? Because We (you and me) believe it is a manifestation of God and because Christians and other dualists believe it is a creation of God. It is the rare person who can exclusively "imagine" a totally formless transcendent , pervading deity who is reality, consciousness, and experiendce itself. We can intellectually imagine it, we can even mystically intuit or feel it, but at a certain point, even those "believing" in a monistic, absolutist, and impersonal idea of God have some sort of image or metaphor in their minds about it. We are form and we mostly can only relate to things through form and the "I-Thou" experience. I think God is cool with that, though.
Reply:Your statement can only be verified through an innate knowledge of God. This can be a feeling. Those denying Him are also refusing to even try to touch this knowledge.
Reply:They know the truth in the recesses of their minds and souls and are afraid to admit that the two are one. Their loss.

Goddess Bless.

Blessed Be.
Reply:god made the universe in such unique way

when you see a miracle you should belive that there is god.

but you cant think that god is the universe

there should be a great owner for that universe
Reply:Well, there isn't much you *can* show, when you are talking about God. Maybe because the universe is full of empty space, and God isn't there, it sort of ties together.
