I have a video ipod nano and i cant put pictures or videos or music videos on it HELP!!?

i know that the pictures are on my ipod because whenever i plug it in, my computer puts up a window showing a picture viewer...and when i go to the video section of itunes it shows the music videos i have and they work perfectly on the computer but when i play my ipod..it just says i have no pictures or videos what am i doing wrong!!??! oh and i know the videos have to be mpg4 and they are, it just doesnt work
