Creative Zen: converting videos to put on the player?

I have recently got a Creative Zen:

It all works fine except i am unable to convert any videos to put on the player. I am using the converter which came with the product (CtConvU) but it fails to convert any of my videos, regardless of what format they are to begin with (I have tried many). It complains of the error:


"The video file does not match the playback capability of your player. Video converter is unable to convert the video into a supported format because the codec required is not installed on your computer." I have used video converters in the past with no problems at all.





If you know what the problem is or/and know how to solve it please answer!





Also are there any patches avaliable for the converter prehaps?

I'd say that your best bet is to go to Creative Lab's website (www.creativelabs.com), go to Support--%26gt;Downloads, and choose your player, etc. Check if there's any updates (firmware included), and if there is, install them. If there is no updates, try reinstalling the converter software. If it STILL doesn't work, I'd recommend trying SUPER video converter (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html). It's free, and converts just about any video format to just about whatever you want (including the Zen... Well, at least the Zen Vision: M, which is what I own.)

I regularly have to convert between video file formats; recently, i have stopped using software and now use an entirely online application at www.mediaconverter.org. here u can convert between the vast majority of formats and also can download streaming video if u have an url. I have neve gotany kind of malware from the site so i thouroughly reccomend it
