I have a Canon PowerShot A540 and it records videos and takes pics, and you can upload videos on to the camera, but my question is, can you put videos on it like a music video, because it connects to the t.v. and i have a sd reader for my computer, so i can put videos on the sd card, but the camera sais unknown pic, i just put it directly into the foulder, the canon program doesn't give me the option to put vids on it, please tell me if i can or can't put videos on this and use it to watch it, and if i can't, is it possible that some way i can hook up a sd to like a dvd player or something, i want to be able to watch videos on my tv without hooking it to my computer or putting videos on a disk.
Can You put Videos on a SD memory card and watch it on your digital camera?
As long as the video is in a format that the camera supports, you should be able to play it back on the camera (and connect to the tv).
I believe the camera u have captures/supports only Quicktime format, so if you want to watch formats like mpeg or avi, then you're out of luck.
As far as an alternate way to watch movies from a sd card, idk if your dvd player has a usb port, but there are usb adapters that read sd cards. I'd look into that option and see if your dvd player supports that.
Reply:Just a guess, but your camera may record and playback using mpeg4 and it might not recognize other formats. The file you put on your SD card might have been in wmv or other format that the software on your camera doesn't understand.
Reply:Yes there is. Here are the steps for it.
1.Plug in your camera.
2.go to My computer.
3.Click Removable disk, or if it says your camera name, click that.
4.upload your camera to where your pictures are.
5.click and drag your video files onto your camera and badaboom U got it!
Good Luck!!!
